Board endorses fund-raiser with support letter

CARIBOU— The Caribou Board of Education unanimously approved a support letter for the Caribou High School Music Building Room Addition Fund-raiser last Wednesday.
The letter will help the fundraising committee in their applications for grants and was signed by six board members. The addition is expected to cost $2.4 million [$2.7 million], and while the committee is seeking local contributions, it is now actively perusing funding from national endowments and organizations. To date the group has collected more than $20,000 in a year's time.
The letter concluded, "It is truly rewarding to work with the present and former students who are the members of the Caribou Music Building Fund-raising Committee .... They themselves will never directly benefit from this project other than knowing that they supported a program that was an important part of their education. The Caribou Board of Education proudly supports their efforts." [...]
