Profile of Country Generations, according to their website
at www.countrygenerations.ca:
Atlantic Canadas only country show-band,"Country
Generations", hails from Nova Scotia. The core of the
group has been together since 1998. The concept, which
meshes new and traditional country into one unique stage
show, was the brainchild of Frank Spinney. Frank enlisted
the help of his two sons Jason and Jamie, family uncle
Mike Johnson, cousin Chris Leslie and family friend
Nicole, to form Country Generations in 1998. Terry
Salsman and Frank Dobbin, joined soon after but the
show-band was not complete until Floyd Spicer and Keith
Delong joined the CG family. The groups name is derived
not only from the music they perform but also thegenerations that you find on the stage. The groups ages
range from 22 63!
The group has recorded 3 CDs in Nashville and have just
released their 4th Nashville album. Their music has been
played around the world. Their first album produced a #1
single in Australia on the Ison International Radio
Network. "The Bottom Line" was # 1 for 14 straight
weeks! Their album, The Greatest Show, placed 5 singles
in the top 300, on the 2002 European Country Music
Chart. The band has also released country gospel and
Christmas CDs to much critical acclaim. In 2003 and
2004, CG was nominated by the Music Industry
Association of Nova Scotia, as the top Country Artist/Group Of The Year. Their latest CD "Follow The Signs"
released on February 13, 2005 is getting lots of spins in
the USA.
Country Generations sound is truly "country." Their
showmanship shines through in their live stage show.
Eight members in the group sing lead vocals and
harmonies vocals at different intervals of their show. CGs
musicianship is second to none as 15 different country
instruments are used during their stage show with many
members playing multiple instruments. A live CG show
truly has something for the whole family.
Country Generations embarked on their first international
tour in 2004, touring Australia in Sept. / Oct. 2004 with
shows in Penrith, Sydney, Rozelle, Bellrose, Cobar and
Nymagee. The tour was highlighted by Country
Generations performances at the 2004 Nymagee Outback
Music Festival.
