Our Mission »»

› The Caribou High School Music Building Fund is a student-initiated, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created to promote the benefits of a music education. Our mission is to build a $2.7 million music facility for Northern Maine. For years, numerous limitations to the music space at Caribou High School and the lack of a proper music facility in Northern Maine has put Aroostook County's students and musicians at a severe disadvantage compared to other individuals in Southern Maine and across the country.

› Students at Caribou High School recognized these limitations and when it was realized that no one was to do anything about them, the students took matters into their own hands and in 2004, became some of the youngest individuals to have ever created a non-profit organization. Since then, the committee has expanded to include other community members and has received immense community support for the project.

› Once built, the facility will allow Caribou High School's students to utilize the various music technologies and acoustically engineered practice spaces during the school day. After school, the center will be available for other regional performing groups and musicians. Additionally, the center will allow Northern Maine to attract various state-wide music festivals.
